Many of us have been produced with the Trapp Family Singers by Rodgers and Hammerstein “The Sound of Music ‘, the first time on Broadway in 1959 and then to the beloved film version in 1965. However, the family group was in fact a series of recordings for RCA Victor and German Grammophon, until they disbanded in 1957. This album is digitally remastered recordings in the early 1950s noted. The sound is very clear and gives a good representation of the fine vocals of the group. Some facts able in English and listeners hear clear that the Austrian accent, but most of the songs are in German. All are sung with great enthusiasm and musicality. This is a rare opportunity to hear a favorite choir not, or a Broadway Hollywood version, but Originale.Maria von Trapp, who had the pleasure, at San Jose State University, in 1967, had a great history divided into at least two books. Some of the story was adapated in musical comedy, but there were some differences in what actually happened, the family, particularly in Austria in 1938. However, Maria had a hand in creating a wonderful group of songs they like us are still around these vintage recordings. Well It also will sing a new generation of Trapp Family Singers, and keep the tradition alive. But this is the original group, some nice performances, characteristic of many concert appearances for more than 20 years.

If you’ve read their books, you will notice that Mary enjoyed the rights of the film very cheap and the family sold much of the success of the film. Which were repulsed by the music. This CD captures a real von Trapp family and their love for good music clean.

I am one of those addicted to The Sound of Music, after losing his way how many times I’ve seen what the format. So it was basically a curiosity, I bought this CD. It’s a beautiful shot you in a traditional, warm family gatherings. The voices of men are not impressive and I do not want the flute solo on the CD. But the final result is very pleasant, very good to listen in the car while you are in the nature of the car on the road (before the meal, of course).
