You should wait until it is dry, especially when painting with oil, because it takes much longer, usually dry and bond to a wet surface of the latex paint is a water-base coat to leave, always, a 24-hour window before and after the painting to capture and thus forget drying cracks anddon’tt seal or you will paint it again

Do not paint, unless you paint is really dry. In the summer when it is dry and when it rains, it can dry out enough to paint very quickly, as in a day or so. You can really tell just by touch. In the spring or autumn, not so much. Things take longer to dry completely. Same idea for once it is painted. If you use water-based paint on a hot day, it will be dry enough to move within hours. Oil-based will last longer. Look what it says on the can for dry to touch. If the oil is dispersed after it feels dry, it should be fine. Water-based is more sensitive in this way. If it gets wet too early, it can take up water and flips up, but if you just let it often unwrinkles after it dries but no guarantees. Nor should you really soak for at least 24 hours after painting, while a vertical surface can always okay a little wet because the water does not sit on it, was not a horizontal one, as the water sitzen.Ich painted on it in the past on a hot summer day , a surprise when severe thunderstorms came. Unfortunately, I had to do down the siding of a house, with latex. The things I had one hour before were well painted, but the newer stuff was splashed, partially washed away, and had done it again after it dried.
